The modern-day traveler has much to deal with, pertaining to checking in with security, before he or she can ever get onto a flight. One of the major concerns, and therefore hold ups at security, is the requirement to inspect all laptops coming aboard the airplane. Most of these are now contained in smaller laptop cases, as opposed to the larger, more cumbersome laptop cases of yesterday. With plastic totes for laptops starting to lead the way, due to their extreme light-weight yet durable quality, there is obviously controversy about them being manufactured, because they are plastic. The people who are now chronically complaining about plastic totes for laptops, state that they are not environmentally friendly, since they are plastic. They also state that the mass-production of such items, as a whole, only contributes further to the destruction of the Earth’s resources, since the process of manufacturing itself can deplete the Earth of some resources in order to function. They protest, on a fairly regular basis, asking for such manufacturing plants to close down for good, allowing the Earth to replenish some of the resources that are now and have been used for quite some time now, since the advent of manufacturing, which started in the 19th century on a grand scale. What these environmental champions don’t realize is that nearly all of the manufacturers of today’s plastic totes for laptops have not only changed to a completely, biodegradable product, but also that they have greatly improved their mass-production of such products by switching over to more “environmentally friendly” methods, overall. In fact, the cases produced today are so environmentally-conscience by design and material, that if you were to toss one into a compost heap or regular landfill, it would start to decompose immediately, and would be rendered destroyed within one to three years, depending on the environmental conditions of the area. Furthermore, how would you like to have on your conscience the job losses of thousands of people, who are working for such a company that is trying to become Eco-friendly? I think the environmental activists should find someone else to pick on, since it clearly seems like they are grasping for straws, when it comes to companies that are mass-producing plastic totes for laptops. Whatever happened to “Save the Whales!”, by the way? Inquiring minds wish to know, thank you very much!
