Convert an existing piece of code from windows to linux. The current C++ class is written for DirectShow. It was designed to work under WindowsXP. The Class and its member functions may not be changed, added or removed. The underlying code must be rewritten to work under Linux. The class is very straight forward and not complicated. Significant experience with both DirectShow and Video For Linux are required. The resulting class must work with webcams and video capture cards. For webcams the code should automatically select the highest resolution available. The overall function of the class is to act as a general purpose camera interface, which returns the raw pixel data (RGB style) of each frame. This means performing any decoding of the image data within the class functions. The class should launch a separate thread to decode the image data as fast as possible. Every frame must be decoded and buffered. No frames may be dropped or discarded until they are requested by the application. Any third party libraries must be included and properly integrated with the finished product such that it can be compiled directly without having to install those libraries. I will not be spending a lot of time figuring out how to configure whatever libraries you decide to use and get them to work. An example project which uses the class will be provided. All development should be done within that project. If it doesn't compile on my system as is it will not be considered complete. If you need to copy/paste the entire V4L library to a subdirectory in the projects directory to make this happen, do it. Please try to adhere to C programming whenever possible. Avoid introducing new classes. Code Formatting - see the original code fro code formatting but - 1. Opening braces should be on the same line as the function definition. 2. Closing braces should be indented at the same level as the body of the function. void Foo(int* bar){ *bar = 0; return; } Failure to follow this formatting may result in a delay in payment.

hi, I bid this project as I have good experience in directshow filter developement. Also I have worked in streaming applications on encoding side. Worked in HLS streaming, Adobe Dynamic streaming (HDS), silverlight smooth streaming on the encoding/transcoding ffmpeg streamed Transport stream to fragmented mp4 boxes in c++ language. The ts and mp4 with parsing is done in both c++ and C#. h264 and aac basic header parsing ( upto NALU to find duration and frame type are done). Had done time based and I frame based segmentation/fragmentation of these codecs.

I know C++1z, C++14, C++11, etc., as well as C11., have very good knowledge of various Linux APIs for image and video transformation, such as ImageMagick, FreeImage, ffmpeg, etc., and have also worked with DirectX on Windows. I have experience with converting a Windows-specific app to work on Linux, as well as with multithreading on both high-level and low level (atomics, memory ordering, etc.), so I know how to manage the async task of video conversion. The project is rather straightforward, as is translating applications from DirectX and Windows to Linux-specific APIs, so I should be able to complete it in around 4-5 days.
