We need a small utility coded in assembly/C/C++/VB which will check for the presence of files on a computer with file extension names specified in tick-boxes. These tick-boxes will be grouped together and some tick-boxes can select groups of other tick boxes. We shall provide details of file extensions we need to search on. The source and destination paths must be configurable and last selection stored within the program. It must have a GUI with option to put a branding graphic on, but if a command line option is available too that would be great. It must need no installation on the host computer, running instead in its own directory on the host or from a CD/USB Stick/floppy(if small enough). Radio buttons shall give the option of preserving pathnames. A mask can be applied to enable the program to skip filenames or pathnames specified in an external text file. This text file must be able to be created from within the program but imported if required. The utility needs to be fast and must return the following information in a text file which the user can save: Details of file(s) copied Details of duplicate files (and what the duplicate was renamed to when copied. A wizard-based approach is to be provided as an option to tick-boxes. Ideally, this program should run in a PE environment. Across a network would be useful although not critical. Should the program crash or have bugs during our testing, we would expect them sorted out before final payment. We need full ownership of the source code and request that you do not link to your sites in any way or produce similar software to compete against ours. No time wasters please - this project needs to be completed and running smoothly within a few months.
