Audio Graph Tool

I need a tool that accesses the lead melody of an audio file and calculates the difference between the lowest note and the highest note. This tool will also be a graph that shows how many notes below middle C (if applicable) and how many notes above middle C (if applicable) The difference between the highest and the lowest notes will be represented numerically in half steps. For example: The difference between a Db (lowest note) and a G (highest note) in the same octave = 6 (that's 6 half steps) There has to be a way for me to press a key on the keyboard to activate the function, another key to pause the function during instrumental solos, and two keys to make it calculate. * One key makes it calculate the difference between the absolute lowest and absolute highest notes.
