Hi Everyone, I have an ESXi 5.1 server (free version) with 4 Windows Server guest VMs and a APC-SMC1500 UPS . I am looking to have it automatically shutdown my vm's and ESXI if there's a power failure. I already installed the powerchute software on one of the VMs and connected the UPS unit over USB. I found this post with instructions on how to setup a scrypt that would take care of this, but I couldn't get it to work. Do I need an ESXi License and using the free version You need to have experience with ESXi

Not really a project, but it goes above my knowledge of linux. I have an fileserver(CentOS 6.5) with 4 x 2TB WD RED drives( all <1 year old). These are in software raid 5, on top LVM and volume group formatted as ext4. After reboot the raid was lost and cant rebuild it because "mdadm -assemble" cant find the supper block on the drives. CentOS runs on an other drive so the server works just fine. I guess it just a matter of rebuilding the raid array and the data on the drives would be restored. I really need the data on the drives, and don't have any backup of it(i'm working on a backup system).

we are looking for someone who can setup an Raid 0 array on a fresh installed Ubuntu 12.04 system, only the first disk is formatted and currently in use (sda), sdb is not in use. Harddisks are 2x1 TB, the Raid array should have 1.8 TB in the end. this applies to 10 similar servers.

I have a server that had a disk space issue, FSCK was ran which corrected the drive problem, but GRUB broke. The operating system is CENTOS 6.5. The volume is a RAID 10 LVM 4ext volume that is already partitioned and contains data that I can not lose. The winning engineer will use Team Viewer to connect to a session I will shadow, where the engineer will have SSH - ROOT access to the server to install GRUB. GRUB was working on the server prior to the disk scan. You need to be a Linux expert, I have spent two nights straight with google / bing / yahoo and could not make Grub install so no amateurs please.
