I like to write. Having discovered my love for writing towards the end of my years in school, I wasted no time in taking the plunge into writing (somewhat) professionally. Inclined towards advertising, I scored my first internship immediately after I graduated from school, at 15, with Brand David – Ogilvy’s...I like to write. Having discovered my love for writing towards the end of my years in school, I wasted no time in taking the plunge into writing (somewhat) professionally. Inclined towards advertising, I scored my first internship immediately after I graduated from school, at 15, with Brand David – Ogilvy’s sister-concern agency. From then on, each summer vacation was spent learning and sharpening my skills until I finally began work as a full-time professional copywriter in 2008. In what has turned out to be a very successful 3 years, (I’ve won 20 international and domestic awards) I’ve realised that my love for writing now stretches beyond the advertising realm as well. I also play the bass guitar and for six years (2005-2011) I was the bass player for a band, having played gigs across the country. While I now also dabble in comedy - which has always been my passion – my desire to explore new avenues with my writing is now stronger than ever. Another yelled at me because his website loaded in 4 seconds instead of 2. I count both as wins. That tells you everything. I care about how things feel in your hand and how they work under the hood. Most people pick one. I picked both because I couldn't stand watching good design die in bad development, or great code wrapped in ugliness. Started in 2012 with ink and paper. Packaging that sold products before anyone read the label. Logos that worked on billboards and favicons. Print taught me restraint: if it doesn't work at 1 inch, it doesn't work. Then screens ate the world. Clients started asking for "the same feeling, but online."
