Contest Brief

Hi Feelancer's...

I'm looking to have a new logo created for our martial arts school. I would like to do two things:

1) Rebrand our existing company
2) Acknowledge our 15 year anniversary

Part 1:

The first part; we have two systems of martial arts that we practice at our studio and I would like to blend the two into 1 logo, as opposed to the two separate logos we currently use now. (See attached)

This is what I would like to use moving forward, into our 15th, 16th, 17th + years of business...

I am looking to modernize the look and feel, taking our brand into a new direction. Simplistic, bold and strong are the feelings I want to convey through this logo re-design.

As you see we are currently using 2 logos to represent each program, and we only want to have one logo from here forward.

The name of the studio should clearly read:
Capital Karate & Krav Maga

Some of our ideals and areas of pride are: Patriotic (USA), Family and kid friendly (should not be scary or offensive, but also not juvenile) and Excellence. All are welcome and we have a strong presence in our community of Columbia, South Carolina.

We would like to keep the logo black and white, as these have been our colors and our very original logo from the start of business.

Part 2:

We would like to have the anniversary years and our city on the logo; please incorporate the following as either a top banner or a bottom banner, or if you choose to exclude part of it, that is also fine.

I look forward to providing feedback to your design submissions and will rate all submissions. I will need a transparent PNG logo as well the source files for the artwork to modify/adjust any minor tweaks in the future. The logo will need to be cleanly legible on black or white backgrounds.

    Dear Holder, You wanted a logo that you would like to use for branding in the years to come. For that reason,I have used "since 2006" which will be effective in the following years besides the 15th founding anniversary. Thanks.

      This is right, but my purpose currently is for this coming year, as we are in our 15 year anniversary celebrations... what I would like to see is either "Proudly Serving Columbia, SC since 2006-2021" as a tag line on the side, or a special banner beneath the logo--this we it can be omitted in future years but not take away from our new brand image.

    Hi everyone...

    I would like to say, I do not need the logo to be in a circle shape; in fact, I probably would prefer it not be in a circle shape.

    I would like to keep our kicking figure as the representation for martial arts, but would like something more modern.

    I would also like to focus on the American (USA) approach to the logo vibe. I am not looking for an "Oriental" or "Asian" vibe, so no need for Yin Yangs, Japanese Archways or similar insignia.

    I love the submissions so far, but still looking for something a bit more bold, using black and white. You do not need to submit a black background and white background option or inverse; I only want one logo--something that will look great with NO background, but remain in black and white.
