Contest Brief

I have a scene in a play, where a man (Harrison) and woman (Alina) have split up, and Harrison has written Alina a letter vowing to correct his course and be what she always wanted. Harrison should not seem a sad soul, or weak, he must be a man and not surrender his pride in the letter by grovelling, rather, stand tall as a man - admit his faults, but also give her comfort that he is strong, with a romantic nurturing side, and let Alina know that the man she desires is Harrison. It shouldn't be that his life will end, or that he is suicidal either. He is a strong man, and if she chooses not to let him in then that is her decision - but with a romantic/poetic touch, he can swoon Alina with his honest words of what he seeks to show her.

Harrison should also not be selfish in his approach. This should not be about his loss, rather, it should give Alina what she desires. He has hurt her, so he must repair that and give her faith to trust the 0.1% chance in her heart.

Alina is a strong woman; she is head strong. She does not want to give Harrison a chance, but at the same time that is exactly what she wants. He just needs to woo her with his poetic charm, strength and romantic side.

This project contest is to help write that letter - I have a first draft attached, so you can work off it, or build / rewrite anything you want or start from the start. The winning entry will win the prize.

The background of Harrison is he respects Alina greatly, but he has not lived up to the expectations of a good partner, and he is acknowledging that in this letter. He wants Alina's heart back and to give her confidence that she should not fear being hurt. Alina is a romantic at heart. A true romantic.

Alina still loves him, but she fears Harrison will break her heart again, and she is starting to move on with other people and trying to date someone else, but her heart still lays with Harrison. The letter will be read by Harrison in a solo scene, and he will place it in an envelope for Alina to read when she returns home. Alina will find the envelope by her door.

Please be as creative and romantic or poetic as your choose - you can include whatever you like; poetry, love, strength, whatever, to help finalise this letter. Alina is a romantic at heart, but she is also protective of her heart (although you don't need to say that specifically because it is already clear from the play/story).

Good luck, and thank you for participating

    Hello.
This is the letter that I have written for Alina. It’s a fusion of my idea and yours. I used your draft to build up the letter and incorporated my own ideas along with it. Essentially, I included most of what you have written to make it sound more like you. I hope you like it. :)

Hi, please can you private message me? This is not to do with my entries. It has to do with large parts of your example text being used elsewhere.
