Contest Brief

I'm looking for a logo to start with, along with a branding feel. I am starting a blog and FB page called "Just This American". It will discuss a lot of politics but I do not want to be specifically branded to one side. I find myself in the middle, like I feel most Americans do, and want to use the blog to post my "logical' (in my opinion of course) response to the topics of the week.

I like the idea of incorporating the flag and the initials JTA in some way. I am not artistic, so I'm sorry I can't give you a great starting point. I do not want to include military themes, but would prefer the simple red, white and blue that unfortunately is all to common in these types of blogs. Not sure another way around it. Perhaps someone can recommend a color trend that looks good and relevant, but still patriotic. If that's the case, I do like the colors, teal, dark brown, black and grey. I doubt all of those would look good together, but maybe a combination of them would. Please reach out with any questions. I ideally would like a more square layout that would fit as a profile picture, but also something that could be stretched out to a rectangular layout that would look good for a cover photo on FB or other sites.

I'd prefer the format submitted to be in a photoshop file so I can edit and adjust sizing without an issue.
