Contest Brief

I am looking for an illustration design of a meerkat in 2D. I am looking for a full body standing character, but with a face that can be focused on. You might want to offer two separate consistent drawings.

The character will be the anchor of my digital business and will feature in educational animation shorts aimed at adults.

The character should be consistent with a beautiful design. I am happy for it to be stylised, but it should retain the essence of a meerkat.

This is a fintech business so the character should elicit trust. It should be:-

authentic but imaginative,
trustworthy,
innovative,
cheeky, quirky and fun, about the serious business of money
Nurturing, empathetic, caring
Gender/age agnostic

The essence of the business is "looking out for you" and the character should have that guardian angel feel about it. This is the behaviour demonstrated by a meerkat that is on look out duty for the mob of meerkats.

Hi everybody, thanks for the entries so far. It feels like the more cartoony style is appealing to me, but we need to bring in the idea that you'd listen to this character for advice about your money. So, that serious edge needs to come through. I think that glasses may add an air of intelligence, and possibly clothing the character may also assist. Thank you. David

  Hi re8, the character needs to be able to build trust and engage with people about his money. I think that the eyes are very important for that, but adding clothe also might be an avenue. you do not need to feel constrained by realism. Thanks
