Contest Brief

I'm writing a blog (blog.RichieBartlett.com) entry on "Society 5.0 ..." (early rough-draft PDF attached) I don't want to use the existing art provided with the PDF (https://www.dwih-tokyo.org/files/2021/01/20201214_Pr%C3%A4sentation-Harayama.pdf, pages 14~20).
I have a section in my blog dedicated to discuss each stage of Society. For each section, I need to illustrate that in a single scene.

I'm not looking for stock photos... I already have a subscription to Adobe Stock. I'm looking for original works that can express the evolution of society as defined below (and in the attached PDF). I'm not looking for copy/paste artwork.

Each stage of Society should follow what we know of recorded history. Provide a suggestion of a timeline.

Each society should tell a VISUAL story of our history (through Society 4.0). Society 5.0 should show bits of the present but suggest the future for humanity.

### Society 0.0
*Scavenging for any food - especially various grasses, tubers, fruits, seeds and nuts*
Society 0.0 is more about pre-humans (primates). How do we, as a society, go from being primates to humans? How do we go from staying around trees to building close communities sharing food?
As a suggestion: have primates on the left hanging around more in the trees. In the center, primates sharing foods gathered. On the right, have less fur and more rock/tool gathering.

### Society 1.0
*hunter-gatherer stage of human development.* This should focus more on humans scavenging and not really hunting. I'm not looking for an image of humans throwing spears at a Mammoth or any other animal. Meat could be illustrated as game left over from another animal's kill and scavenged as food. Society 1.0 should show how we go from primates to modern day humans. From mostly scavenging food to start hunting and proactively gathering to eventually cultivating plants.

### Society 2.0
*agrarian age.* Think farmers. Starting to see the mechanization of processes (machines).
Left side of the image should show the hunter-gathers finding plants and learning to cultivate them. In the middle of the scene, you would see farms and people plowing the land. On the right side, you see the introduction of tractors and machines on the farm.

### Society 3.0
*industrial age.* Think of printing press, assembly lines with machines, and bigger machines for everything. Mass production.
Industry 1.0+2.0 start

### Society 4.0
*information age - the one we are living in now.* We've started connecting to each other over the internet. But information is unevenly distributed. Technology is secondary to everything. Automation with robots. Emergence of Artificial Intelligence.
Industry 3.0 start

### Society 5.0
*cyber-smart*
We are slowly transitioning into this era as we integrate more technology (social media, cloud, IoT, A.I., A.R. / V.R., Machine Learning, cybernetics, etc) into our daily lives. Cyber-physical integrations. Technology and science are prized for the growth of our society. Think "The Expanse" or other futuristic Sci-Fi. (Not quite to the Star Trek level - Society 6.0)
Industry 4.0 starts

_Style_ of the artwork should resemble the Adobe Illustrator files attached.

Everything must be in *vector* format. I expect the final product to be a single AI (adobe illustrator) file. Please make good use of grouping objects with labels for each group. Please don't embed rasterized images.

The focus is to depict how groups of humans would have lived in each stage of society.
Isometric designs are very cool, but not required. It's needs to be a VISUAL story across a timeline. From the left side (earlier time) of the scene to the right side (later part of the age), there should be a progression in technology. (Similar to what you see in AdobeStock_328859586.ai) Another great example of illustrating progression (in evolution): FromApes2Man.jpg .

** BONUS: If I really like your work, I will likely hire you (hourly pay) to do more art for my blog.

Employer Feedback

“I can see that Hiruni is relatively new to this type of project work. She did a decent job of understanding the contest brief and illustrating my vision on the screen. Over time, I can see her skills growing in-demand. Overall, I'm happy with the work she provided and look forward to working with her on my ongoing and upcoming projects.”

Have to say that it was difficult to decide on the winner of this contest.

I have a couple of factors that influenced my decision. The first is the quality of the artwork and comprehension of the contest brief. Second was an interest in working not only on my blog, but my future projects as well.

I've narrowed the selection down to just three entries. However, I need to sleep before I make my final decision.

TIP: it may be faster if you submit rough line-sketches without color to save time before progressing to full-color, vector art. This way we can discuss if the direction is close to my vision and make quick changes.

I will automatically reject placeholder entries...
"Working" and "Thank you" submissions are wasting everyone's time.

    When ready, please submit work.
Don't be afraid to submit only 1 scene and ask for opinions...

I might suggest you first sketch a single scene (pick any society) and submit that. Then we can have a conversation on how it can be made closer to my vision.

Note that I'm not just looking for good artwork. I'm looking to hire someone to do a lot more work for my on-going projects. The last contest I held was for my website design. The winner continues to work for me and I've paid him over $6000 USD. Does that sound interesting to you?
