Contest Brief

We need a logo designed for a new photography business, Little Things Photography. We will be photographing pets and families, so the name refers to children, pets, babies etc who will be our main subject. It's also about how the little things in life matter - little moments with family, little things we do for each other etc.

I have some ideas for the logo but I don't want these to restrict you at all, i'd like to see these ideas included, but I'd also like to see completely original designs and ideas. I'll try to be pretty active in giving feedback on ideas so you can see what I do and don't like as the contest progresses.

Ideas I have:

- A logo that incorporates a picture of a child and a dog walking or playing together

If the logo does have graphical elements, I'll need it to also be able to work with just text. I'd also like to see how the logo could be incorporated nicely with the website name, which is going to be either littlethingsphotography.nz or littlethingsphotography.co.nz

Thanks for all the great entries over the first couple of days! Definitely have a few early favourites, but will keep waiting for more entries. I have a group of friends and members of my team who are furiously arguing about which entries we prefer! So far most of the ones we've liked have been using my idea of a child with a dog - however still open to a text-only logo, plus if you have another original idea for how to represent family & pet photography I am very open to seeing it!

You'll see my other comments on the board about things I definitely don't want - they include 1. Pictures of cameras, 2. Copies of a another entrant's work, 3. Pictures of adults with animals, and I'll add to that 4. Pictures that only have animals (because we are photographing both families and pets).
