Contest Brief

I have a temporary web site at kepasoftware.com that I have built using HTML, CSS, Javascript and php so I could understand what these languages etc. do. The design and operation of the page, to me, is not good. It also has issues with not rendering well on mobiles or iOS devices and it looks amateurish. The logo, which was supposed to have a transparent background does not.
We are an Australian company and we want to replace that web site with a professional looking site that renders well in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Explorer on Windows, iOS, Linux and Android devices.
I would like a site that has the same functionality (it will still be temporary until our application development if finished - November - then it will be replaced) but has a corporate look and feel and uses either Python/Django, Wordpress, Joomla, or Drupal.
I recently had a logo developed for Kepa Software, it is attached. I would like to use the colours in the logo as the basis of some of the text on the new web site (Green=#5fb538 , Blue=#003da5) but not be so bright as to not have a "large corporate" look and feel.
The project will be in two phases: (1) Site design and when that is approved (2) Build the site and handover. As part of your proposal I would like to see the first draft of the Site design so I can see what you are capable of. I also want you to supply examples of other sites you have built with your proposed technology.
Design (look and feel) should align with the intention of the company - To provide a very large corporate solution offered as SaaS and sold around the world.
The web site will be in English but if multiple languages - English, Italian, Russian, French, and German at mininal cost that would be good.

We also don't need pricing plans at this stage, we will however need pricing plans in about October so we will need the ability to have this section and turn it off till about October.

Once again, we do not like "dark" web pages, we want muted colours that could be considered to be pastel versions of the Kepa logo blue and green

    • The Kepa logo should be on the page a couple of times, say at the top and the bottom
    • One design idea that might work is to have something fancy like the clickable links to social media and perhaps other links were to float on the page so that as the page moves up and down they stay in a static position on the screen

    • Latest News section with extract from the latest three articles (each with a “read more” link) and a link to “more articles”
    • Q&A section with about three of the most asked but with links to a full list of Q&A,
    • Product features section with simple graphics – space for words describing the product and say six small blocks with catch-phrases (and associated graphic) about the product features
    • An "about us” section (space for words about us, say three paragraphs)
    • We have to make sure the bottom is not "blocky" and has the social media links and clickable links to the other sections on the home page and other pages such as News, etc.
    • Somewhere on the page it should prominently say "100% Aussie Made" with an Australian Flag.

After consideration of the entries so far we have decided that we need the following:
    • Page top (not blocky, including our reason for being - “Advanced Project Portfolio Management” - at the top with a "find out more" and a single click to another page, "contact us" in one click, social media links, and menu to sections of the page),
    • A form fill in section entitled “Fill in our form to get a free trial of Appo when it is released) to collect details of prospect (name, title, company, phone, email message) with links to click phone, kepa email
    • Contact Us (with some words about contacting us, address, phone, email, social media links, map of Australia with a pointer to where we are, links to request subscription to our newsletter),
    • Section of simple graphics with some words that highlight the advantages of doing business with Kepa – 8 advantages in two rows of four

Just to be clear, the application we are building will not be appropriate for mobile phones because it will require far too much screen real estate - some of the matrices we will be working with are many columns wide by many columns deep. However, we want the web site to render well on mobile devices so that we use it purely as sales and marketing.

I am happy to use pre-made templates as long as I can be comfortable that the design and sections can be adapted to what we need NOW. I am also happy to go with a bespoke design if that is what works. It looks like most of the entries so far will be using pre-made templates so I am assessing them on look and colour because I do not know how flexible the templates are.

Our product will not directly help a customer's business grow. Instead it will save them money from projects that they do not have to run or projects that are not worth running because the gain is too small, It will tell them when the project does not align to their strategy. It will tell them when there is bias in the assessment of any project. It will tell the board when the benefits to be gained from a project warrant the expenditure and it will tell them when there are better investments to make.

This web site will only be temporary, it will be totally replaced with a new site around October - That web site will be Python/Django technologies but I have suggested that the interim/temporary site could also be Joomla, Drupal or Wordpress.

We are a product company, not a services company (although we will offer support, at a cost). I like the idea of "click here to make sure you get a free trial when the product is released" - we will need to capture name, title, company, email address at a minimum (company and title will be optional).

I want to know what technologies you intend to use to develop the design and the site. I will need an indication of how long to design and how long to develop from you. I would need to know what the deliverables you intend.

The product's primary market is large companies, governments, and especially management consultants. There will also be a version for the consumer market. Enterprise customers will be able to choose their support level. The consumer product will be just a few $ per month for access.

Most of the entries so far are boilerplate designs, some of which I like. Just to reiterate, we are not able to sell anything until November 2020, thus our web site is to engender interest in the product and get people to supply us with their contact details so we can let them know when we have a product. We won't be announcing pricing plans until we have a product available but all pricing plans will include a free trail. We would like to be able to provide some product information (what it will do and who it suits type stuff). Links are to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The phone number is an Australian number. We would like to offer a Q&A page separate. We would like to be able to manage the content ourselves after the site goes live. We would like a "contact us" page or section that shows our address, phone, email etc. We would like an "about us" page or section.

We can't use most of the design you have presented. We don't yet have a product, it is still being developed so things like "Request Quote", "Meet the team" etc. are useless to us right now.

Motiar, Our app does will not be used to develop software, it provides analysis of data entered by the client about the projects they intend to run. So, most of your proposed site would not be appropriate. Please also consider checking your spelling before you put a proposal in future.

Anusri, There is too much use of the blue and green so it looks foreboding (more small organisation than large corporate that seems to me to use more muted colours, almost like the grey background on the existing site (I do not want to use that background on the new site). Thanks

Muhammed, We are in the process of developing our app and that will take till November when we will also announce our pricing plans. So, this site has too much content for the interim but I like the approach of having "about us", "latest news", "contact us", "Q&A", and "About our product" sections. So, I would definitely need modifications to this - remove some sections, change sections. Thanks.
