Contest Brief

Dear creatives,
I have writing a childrens book about a small, shy and sad firefly called Flop who hiding their feelings.

At first i need the cover picture of the book.
On the cover should be Flop illustrated and important is, that Flop is not already shown as a shine bright firefly because at first Flop dont know that he can shine bright.

The body language is shy but loving with a cute look.
Flop is on a green field.

At next the book includes 4 other insects which i need illustrated:
The ladybug is a female figure with freckles, somewhat more rounded.

Then a the rhinoceros beetle, he´s strong and has a horn his nose. He has a confident stance and shines easily. (Tank)

At next the dragon fly, she´s wearing aviator glasses because she´s so fast.

At least the ghost insects, she looks like a stick and holds a leaf in each hand for camouflage.

The book need´s all in all 17 pictures which illustrated the situations between the insects.
The winner will get another 200$ for illustrating the other 17 pictures for the different situations between the figures.

So i´m curious about your drawings.

I love the style of Axel scheffler and i imagine the drawings in this style.
For exampel the books: the gruffalo
Generally i like it if a few details in the picture are to be found.

The pictures should be colorful.

    I like it more when the firefly sits on the ground in the middle of the picture. It is on a field by day because you cant see that it is a firefly. It looks like a normal insect. Flop should looks a little bit more innocent and cute. I prefer it when the picture look like self-painted and not so much like an animation.
