Contest Brief

Hi!

We're a small startup and I'm looking for a low cost (but highly skilled) After Effects expert to insert product placements into videos.

This contest is an audition - after this we'd like to work with the winner indefinitely. Some of my other freelancers have been working with me in other businesses for over 10 years.

I'm looking for someone who lives and breathes After Effects, is highly skilled and also highly creative. We're producing high quality videos that are 'celebrations' of the women who are our customers. We would like to subtley insert product placements into some of these videos.

Our products are fully rendered in 3D, we have dozens of high resolution 3D images for each product and can produce any other specific angle required, with any lighting or shadowing that may be required.

In many cases the camera will be panning in our videos, so you will need to be able to insert and stabalize placed products in this situation.

The most important requirement is that these placements need to be absolutely realistic. They can't look like inserts into the video.

So! With that in mind, here is the brief for this competition:

"Insert a small capsule bottle (any bottle, any brand) into one or more of the attached videos."

The products should be blurred (if required) to match the depth of field of the position in the image you choose to put the product, and shadowing and lighting should be matched to the surrounds. The objective is to make your product placement look like a completely natural part of the image.

That's it. Other than this simple guidance, you have full creative licence to produce this in any way that you want.

Here are the video clips to use. The closeup video showing the mother kissing her baby on the head is the most challenging of the three as the camera is panning - extra points if you can tackle this one!

Feel free to submit as many entries as you like, but only submit those which you believe fully demonstrate your mastery in video product placement.

By the way, using After Effects isn't a requirement - feel free to use a different visual effects package if you prefer.

The winner will be the person who demonstrates their ability to produce the most natural and realistic product placements. We would then like to discuss our long term requirements with you.
