Contest Brief
BRIEFING
Current website: www.plbeverage.com
Goal: A website that is more innovative in look, response and feel than that of competitors. We want visitors to enjoy the experience. Locate information quickly and easily and feel the strength and success behind the brand. NOTE: WE ARE LOOKING FOR A MOCK UP FOLLOWED BY DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PHYSICAL WEBSITE AS PART OF THIS PROJECT.
The designer: An out of the box designer that has a portfolio of lean, clean designs that focus on user experience/usability and current web design trends. The ideal designer should also like to be a bit bolder in conceptual development than corporate. The designer would also have an intuitive approach that balances the creative along with the business drivers behind the website and assure that creativity does not compromise usability.
General comment: the current web platform for PL Beverage is too busy, colourful and amateurish looking. The goal would be to take the current content and leverage it to create a web experience that is both unique visually while also communicating the content in a strong way. We want to achieve a balance between the text and visual content. The website should also load quickly and be highly responsive.
Look: The website should feel clean and light. However, as it is a male dominated industry, the design should lean towards a slight masculine type feel. The website should also have some interactive or appealing design elements (more in a flat design and minimalist feel – perhaps a background animation?). The site should also include spinners, or hover tools and/or loading bars, that don’t require any user input. As the customer base is more focused on Europe and Asia, the "weight" of the design should also take this into account. The typography should be strong and be more on the heavy side of the weight scale than light.
Structure: Long scroll
Sub brand: One of the sub-brands of PL Beverage is work water. This brand is also currently going through a creative refresh. The website is www.workwater.ch. The creative here will all be updated to compliment the new labelling which will look as follows;
It is not necessary that the website have elements as to the above rendering, however as this design will be also placed on the site under the private labeling section, it should not like as if the laelis completely misplaced.
Content: It is important that the content be easy to update and modify, therefore we are looking at WordPress at the appropriate web platform. We will be investing a significant amount of effort into SEO of this site.
Colour: We are open to colour options.
Logo: A modification of the PL Beverage logo is also expected as part of this project.
