Revise Custom PHP/MySQL to support Internet Explorer 8/9/10/11

A previous developer built a custom PHP/MySQL website, part of this website is submitting assessments (quizzes). This website has a submit button that includes a signature (account name/date) validation. It works flawlessly in Firefox/Chrome/Safari/Opera (Windows 7/OSX) but this validation does not update the interface correctly in IE8/IE9/IE10/IE11. The information does successfully get posted to the database, it is simply a visual issue to the end user. We believe it's returning a malformed response which doesn't update the interface to reflect correctly. The result of this error is that it looks like the website is indefinitely validating the signature when the information has actually been received and validated. I need somebody with an understanding of the potential differences between the working browsers (Firefox/Chrome/Safari/Opera) and Internet Explorer to rectify the issue. We will have ongoing work on this project.
