I need to develop an app that can schedule an Android phone to take a photo at predefined intervals and then upload it to an SFTP server. These devices are installed remotely, so the application must be highly error-resistant, ensuring that nothing prevents the photos from being taken. The interval for capturing photos should be remotely configurable, along with the days of the week and the active hours. On one hand, the goal is to develop this app, maximizing the phone's camera quality (50MP in the case of a Samsung S23). On the other hand, a web platform needs to be developed to control all devices with this app, enabling remote monitoring and the ability to change settings such as interval, schedule, and operational days.
The app should be designed to function with or without an internet connection. In case of a connection loss, it should continue capturing photos and upload them once the connection is restored.
Our main reference and what we aim for is a development similar to the following: https://www.timelapserobot.com. While it performs well on both web and app platforms, the drawback is the inability to select the maximum camera quality (50MP) and the inability to upload to an SFTP server. Additionally, we want to establish our own platform and app for internal operations.
